In The Name of god Amen the 7th daie of Aprill 1591 I Roger Custance of Chatterys beinge sicke in bodye but of whole minde and perfect remembrance thanke be to god Doe make this my last will and Testament in manner and formed followinge ffirst I comend my soule into the hanndes of Almightie god and my body to be buryed in the Churche yarde of Chatterys aforesaied Item I geve and bequeath to everye one of my Children 4shs Comaple of Sheepe to be delevered w(i)thin seven yeares next after my decease and I will that Agnes my wife shall have the use of them theis eight yeares I geve to Robert Custance an Ewe and a lambe Item I geve to Edwarde Custance my brother a Rode of Barleye I geve to Steven my brother a lamb hogge I geve to Johane Bigges a Lambhogge I geve to George the Sonne of George Woodrooffe a Lambhogge I geve to Thomas my Sonne a Chyckyn I geve to Rob(er)te my Sonne a Chyckyn Item I geve to Edward my sonne a Calfe I geve to everye one of my Children to be paied wi(th)in seven yeare next after my decease 10shs I geve to the poore of Chattrese to be paied w(i)thin one half yeare next after my decease 5shs I geve towardes the repairinge of Chatteres Church 5shs I geve to Agnes my wife two Acres of medowe in Crowe feilde or crowes grounde duringe her life and after her decease I geve to Edward my sonne and to his heires of his bodye lawfully begotten if he dye w(i)thout issue of his bodye lawfallie begotten then I will the (a)foresaied two acres of mead ground shall remayne to Thomas my sonne and his heires forever I geve to Agnes my wife and to Edward my brother all the p(ro)fittes arysing of the lanndes w(hi)ch I hyred of Margery Roade widdowe during the whole tyme of my bargaine equallye betwene them so be it that Edward my brother wil(I) be bounde to discharge and paie half the monie w(hi)ch I shoulde have paied for the widdowe Roade I geve to widdowe heard 2shs I geve to widdowe Heardes daughter 12d I geve to everye one of my Children 12d All the residue of my goodes Boethe moveables and immoveables nether geven nor bequeathed my debtes paied and my funerall discharged I geve and bequeath to Agnes my wife whome I doe make full and sole Executrix of this my last will and Testam(en)t
